How to cook onions with raw chicken: Chicken and Onion Recipe
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cut-up chicken, (3 1/2 pounds in 8 pieces)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- Preheat the oven to 450°F. In a 9-by-13-inch baking dish or roasting pan, combine chopped onions and chicken pieces.
- Drizzle with olive oil and season with coarse salt and black pepper to taste. To coat, toss everything together.
- Arrange chicken on top of onions, skin side up; sprinkle with paprika.
- 35 to 40 minutes, turning onions and basting chicken regularly until juices flow clear when pierced with the tip of a sharp paring knife. Serve immediately.
